Why
There is so much more than just clubbing on the beautiful island of Ibiza and there are a number of family orientated places to stay. It has a beautiful interior has little cove beaches, towering cliffs and dense pine forests to make this an island of excessive beauty as well as just excess and a great place for a family friendly holiday as long as you can get away from the crowds who are there to party. There is also a concerted effort on the part of the authorites to make the Island more family friendly and clean up the party scene.
Es Cana is a family favourite. It has a shelving beach with shallow clear blue water which is ideal for children. It can get pretty crowded and so if you want more privacy you can travel to less crowded caves just a short walk away or elsewhere on the island. Port d'es Torrent is also quiet and peaceful and within close proximity of the action in San Antonio town which may be of interest to teenagers. Cala Salada may also be worth looking at.We have some accommodation suggestions for the beautiful and quieter centre of Ibiza which are welcoming for children as well as the traditional beach resorts.
When and how
Ibiza is best between April and October. If your kids are not yet in school do travel in June or September. Like most parts of the Med Ibiza gets crowded during the peak summer period.
