Best for teenagers

Here are a few suggestions for holidays that provide good facilities for teenagers. Teenagers love to hang out with other teenagers and be kept busy and active(like all kids but just in a different way). All of these suggestions have age appropriate clubs or activities if the kids want some organised activities but more importantly they all are used to accommodating families with teenagers.

Le Meridian Limassol, Cyprus

Le Meridian Limassol is surrounded by 100,000 square metres of colourful gardens and this self-contained resort boasts the largest guest rooms on the island for a luxurious experience. For kids the Penguin Village is dedicated to children with 2,500 square metres of fun, such as a mini football pitch, bouncy castle, swimming pool, mini amphitheatre and climbing frames. Themed activities include pebble painting, cowboys & Indians and a talent show. Children under three are catered for with a fully supervised creche and enclosed play area indoors and out. Teenagers will make the most of Leisure Land and the Fever Disco. Leisure Land is specially designed for teenagers and adults with four tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, football pitch, mini golf, pool tables, table tennis, archery, badminton, table football, air hockey, bicycles for adults and kids, as well as the unique four-lane "Atlantis" Bowling Centre.

Le Spa is only one of its kind in Europe, a unique thalassotherapy experience with four outdoor and three indoor seawater pools and was awarded the World’s Leading Spa Resort for 3 years in a row from the World Travel Awards. The health and fitness club includes a heated indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, and steam bath, as well as a well-equipped gym with aerobic and yoga classes. The Forte Village, Sardinia 

The Forte Village Resort is set within 25 breathtaking hectares of pine forest and subtropical gardens. It is next to a dazzling white beach on the southern tip of Sardinia. This luxurious resort with its impressive range of leisure activities and distinctive restaurants, offers the very best of Sardinia to families. There are seven hotels in the resort and a dazzling and fabulous choice of rooms, suites and bungalows scattered between lushly landscaped gardens, sports grounds and swimming pools. A word of warning though It is a high cost and a top end property and you really needs to have a good spending budget while staying here. Also check the standard of accommodation as it can very considerably.

There is a wealth of restaurants offering a vast range of cuisine; from Italian to Brazilian as well as the culinary acclaimed Laetrile and even a dedicated children’s restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Nightly entertainment at the Piazza Maria Luigia is perfect for a family evening. Facilities include 10 floodlit tennis courts, a putting green, a go-cart track, an outdoor ice-skating rink and a host of water sports will occupy the whole family. Children will have plenty of fun in the three kid’s pools, two of which are landscaped and located in the Mini Club. La Manga, Costa Brava, Spain

A family favourite with great facilities is the luxurious Hyatt Regency La Manga which lies at the heart of a 1400-acre sporting paradise. Families can stay in the hotel in rooms and suites or in villas or apartments in various parts of the resort. It is a big resort though so do hire a car.

The landscaped resort boasts three of the finest golf courses in Europe as well as a huge variety of other activities for all the family, plus an excellent spa for those wishing to unwind. There are plenty of beaches to choose from: a quiet cove by the resort, another a short drive away with water sports and endless beaches outside the resort on the Mar Menor or the Mediterranean.

Families will appreciate the excellent accommodation at Hyatt Las Lomas Village which provides great freedom and space for families, with a fully equipped kitchen and a separate living room. There is a wealth of sporting activities, most notably the three 18-hole golf courses that are amongst the best in Europe. Further facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and babies’ pool, an indoor lap pool and children’s pool, a tennis centre and football academy.

Babies and children will be endlessly occupied and entertained at the Junior’s Club which runs all year round and offers everything from arts and crafts to nature walks. In summer, older children and teenagers will enjoy the sporting academies giving them the opportunity to learn new skills or improve their ability in football, golf, tennis, cricket and dance. A Slovenia Adventure Holiday
